Kathleen Pilat was elected to the Huntley Library Board in 1997. During this time she has served as Treasurer, Vice- President and is currently serving as President.
Kathleen is a Director of Learning and Development with Equity Office Properties Trust in Chicago. She graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor's degree in Communication. Kathleen and her husband, Bob, have lived in the library district since 1995 and have two children; Laura and Evan. |

Jan Schadt was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2007. She previously served on the library board for six years until the year 2000. After taking a hiatus, Jan decided to return to serve the community once again. Jan has lived in Huntley since 1976 and also served on the School District 158 board.
Her interests include flying, reading, traveling and spending time with her granddaughter. Jan feels that the Huntley Area Public Library is the living room of the community. |

Leslie Threadgill-Smith was elected to the Huntley Library Board of Trustees in 2005. She serves as the Secretary for the Library Board. From 1993 to 2004 she taught special education in Cook and McHenry County Schools. She is currently a stay-at-home mother with two children James (3 yrs.) and Christina (18 months).
She graduated from Western Illinois University with a Bachelor's in Education and Special Education. She has also completed post graduate work at Northern Illinois University. Leslie is a volunteer with several organizations including The Friends of the Huntley Area Public Library, Lutheran Church of the Atonement and ∑Λ∑ Alumni. Leslie believes the library is a place for research, gathering, reading, pleasure, education, personal growth, activities, programs, family time, and much more. As an educator she believes reading is part of being a life long learner. She was inspired to run for the Library Board because she felt the library was a worthy place to focus her time and talents. Leslie has been married to her husband Sean for eight years and enjoys reading poetry, as well as parenting and children's magazines and books. |

Mitch Baker was elected to the Library Board of Trustees in 2001. He currently serves as treasurer of the board. Mitch worked in the business and management field and is now retired. He graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Business Administration. He was inspired to run for election to the library board due to his lifetime love of books, reading and libraries. He is also proud of the Huntley Library and how they promote reading and the arts in the district. As a board member, Mitch wants to insure that the Library meets the needs and wishes of the community. Mitch loves so many different genres that it would be impossible to pick a favorite. He and his wife have an adopted son and one granddaughter. He has also served as a volunteer foster parent. |

Rusty Ayers was elected to the Library Board of Trustees in 2001. Rusty currently works in communications for the Air Line Pilots Association. He graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale with a Bachelor's Degree in Radio-Television, minoring in Journalism, Theater and Music. He also holds a Master's in Public Affairs Reporting from the Sangamon State University, now known as the University of Illinois-Springfield. Other volunteer initiatives include past officer and board member for the Regimental Volunteer Band of Wisconsin. Rusty was also active with the Huntley Sesquicentennial Committee. He was inspired to run for election in 2001 because he wanted to give back to the community. He also wanted to carry on the work of the previous board which was responsible for implementing and building the current Huntley Library. Rusty believes the library is the primary cultural resource in the Huntley community, offering thousands of traditional books as well as audio books, music CDs and VHS/DVD movie and TV shows. He also sees the library as a leading resource for online materials and the guardian of Huntley's historic past. His favorite genre is historical fiction, particularly nautical fiction. Rusty is married to Diane Oltman Ayers, a local newspaper columnist. |

| Ann was elected to the Huntley Area Public Library Board in 2003. She decided to run for the board because she felt her contribution to the future of the Huntley Library would be beneficial to the community. Ann has a degree in Psychology from Columbia and has worked in District 158 for the past 17 years in various disciplines related to library management. She currently is a media assistant at the Huntley High School Library.
Ann has lived in Huntley since 1978, and has been the Head Varsity Golf Coach at Huntley High School for nine years. She is married and has two sons; Ryan is a college graduate and is a Marine who has just returned from three tours in Iraq, and Robert who just graduated with a degree in criminal justice at Southern Illinois University. Her interests include reading, and encouraging reading for the young, traveling and golf. |
