Enjoy photos of this month’s Read to a Dog! Read to a Dog is a monthly program for families at the Huntley Area Public Library.  The volunteer animals are licensed therapy dogs and are accompanied by their owners for the program.  Families sign up for a fifteen minute time slot.  Readers can bring a book from home or choose one from the library.   We love Mo!  So we had a special event to celebrate everything Mo Willems.  We watched a video of “Don’t Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late”, then had different stations of other favorites, like Elephant and Piggie and Knuffle Bunny.  Then kids had a photo opportunity to be in a book with Elephant and Piggie.  And no, we didn’t let the pigeon drive the bus! Will you be mine?  Valentine, that is.  We read about Valentine’s Day at Pajamarama this month with stories like, “I need a Valentine!” by Harriett Ziefert.  We also counted hearts and sang a friendship song.  Then we made our own colorful heart valentine to take home.
