What Do The Friends of the Library Do?

The Friends of the Huntley Area Public Library is a non-profit group that is made up of volunteers who are proud of our excellent library and are dedicated to helping the library serve as a cultural and educational resource to the community.
The Friends actively promote community awareness of the materials, services, and programs the library has to offer. By sponsoring programs and providing financial support through membership dues, book sale revenues, volunteer work, and other fundraising events, the Friends help expand library resources by funding programs and by purchasing new equipment. Some gifts to the library include:
- A defibrillator
- New computers and flat screen monitors to replace old ones
- Manipulative toys for the children's department
- A computer printer
- Key chain library cards
- A storage shed
- An Ellison die cutter and dies for programming and bulletin board display
- A bike rack
- Window shades
- Quilts for story time
- Literature holders and bulletin board for posting community events
- A digital camera and software
