Leslie Threadgill-Smith – President
She graduated from Western Illinois University with a B.S. In Special Education and a B.S. in Elementary Education. She was a full-time special education teacher for 10 years, a stay-at-home mom for 10 years, and has been a substitute teacher in Huntley Community School District 158 for the past 10 years.
She built a home in Huntley 26 years ago with her husband. They have two college aged children. Leslie is very involved with philanthropy and volunteers for many organizations that support the Huntley area community.
Sandy Domagalski – Vice President
Sandy has been a resident in the Huntley Area Public Library District since 2000.
She holds a Doctorate in Business Administration (marketing emphasis) from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. She taught marketing and business at the college level for 22 years and has 10 years previous work experience in the corporate world.
An avid reader, she enjoys all of the resources available from the library.

Kathleen Kunde – Treasurer
Katie Kunde and her family have lived in the library district since 2018. She is a Radiology Operations Supervisor for Advocate Health.
Katie completed her baccalaureate degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology from North Central College in Naperville. She also has a Masters’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from Grand Canyon University. She is passionate about supporting children’s STEM education and healthcare equality.
Katie and her family love utilizing the many children’s programs and resources.

Stephanie Weil – Secretary
Stephanie Weil has served on the HAPL Board since 2023. She is currently the Secretary and sits on various committees on the board. She works as Finance Manager at a Chicago-based non-profit private day school and is an MBA-Finance and CPA.
She is an avid reader who, along with her husband, Marty, uses the library almost on a daily basis. Along with believing in the importance and impact of the library to a community, Stephanie serves as Treasurer of a non-profit group called As Good As Gold Golden Retriever Rescue of Illinois.

Linda Benigno – Trustee
Linda and her husband, Vito, moved to Huntley in 2015. They are the stewards for the Little Free Library in Sun City, Huntley.
Linda received her degree in Library Science from Rosary College (now Dominican University), worked in government and school libraries, and is now retired.
Linda sees the Huntley Public Library as a valuable source of information, education, and enjoyment for all library district residents!

Jerry Reedy – Trustee
Jerry has been a resident of the Huntley Area Public Library District since 1993. He retired from a 42-year career with AT&T finishing his career there as a national Senior Product Marketing Manager.
Jerry has a passion for volunteering in Huntley and in McHenry County. In addition to his recent appointment as a library trustee, he serves on three other boards: the Huntley Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association; the McHenry County Salvation Army advisory board, and the Loft Homes of Woodcreek Condo. Assoc. board).
