It’s October, so we read stories about trees and their changing leaves. We read several books about autumn, including “Bella’s Fall Coat”, by Lynn Plourde and sang “Leaves are falling” several times, while dancing with our own leaf. Then we decorated a bare tree with colorful yarn and had a snack. When amazing art is being done, you need to showcase it…so we had an art show! Kids were asked to bring in 1-2 items they made at Project Tween to share with library visitors. If you are a tween and you haven’t been coming to this event, check out the photos to see what you have been missing! Project Tween is a monthly program geared for youth between 10-14 years old at the Huntley Area Public Library.
Teens created delicious treats with the talented staff at Morkes Chocolates in Huntley. Popcorn balls, push-up cake pops, and chocolate dipped strawberries were all declared delicious! We offered 2 classes this summer in conjunction with Morkes.
