Think back to New York in the 1920s: The Jazz Age – a place where the wealthy inhabitants of the East get their lives tossed around because they have nothing better to do. The story surrounds the romance of Jay Gatsby and Diasy Buchanan – what it could have been if Daisy hadn’t married Tom Buchanan. This book was all right – if you enjoy the novelty of New York, big parties, and scandalous romantic affairs in the 1920s. A good piece of American Literature in general.

“The Great Gatsby” is a story about wealth and the roaring 20s. It tells the story of Gatsby and Daisy from the point of view of Nick who has just moved to New York. It criticizes the achievability of the American Dream and shows that wealth is everything. I liked the book, but I wasn’t a fan of how Fitzgerald ended it. I also would have liked to have Gatsby and Daisy together for a little bit longer.
