Huntley Library Employee Recognized With Chamber of Commerce MVP Award

Ms. Leigh Ann Porsch, Huntley Area Public Library District Communications and Development Coordinator and a Huntley native, was chosen to receive the Huntley Area Chamber of Commerce’s 2015 MVP (Most Valuable Player) Award. This is the Huntley Chamber’s first-ever MVP award presentation.

According to chamber representatives, “the MVP award is presented to a Huntley Area Chamber of Commerce member who has demonstrated outstanding initiative and responsiveness with regard to chamber objectives. This individual is quick to donate his or her time, expertise, and professional leadership during the past year. The award is given to a chamber member who is eager to volunteer for chamber programs and carries through on those programs. He or she is always there when called upon to contribute. His or her dedication to fellow members is greatly appreciated and that dedication provides a great example to all members.”

Chamber Board President Carol DeFiore and Chamber Executive Director Sunday Graham presented the award to Porsch at the Chamber’s 2015 Annual Celebration and Mardi Gras Ball held on February 7, 2015 at the Sun City Prairie Lodge in Huntley, Illinois.

Said DeFiore of Porsch, “She is such a great example to us of leadership, commitment, and dedication. Her dedication to the chamber has been outstanding. In a time of transition for the chamber during 2014, in absence of an Executive Director, the first email I received was from Leigh Ann and it simply said, ‘How can I help?’ and from that moment she never wavered and continues to be someone we as a chamber look to for support.”

Library Director Frank Novak had similar words of praise for Ms. Porsch.

“Leigh Ann has great initiative and she’s continually working to make the Huntley area a better place for everyone, whether as a library employee or a Huntley Chamber member. I am proud of her accomplishments. She is a consummate business professional and it is a pleasure working with her.”
