Life of Pi – Read It and Rate It

Life of Pi
by Yann Martel
Adventure
* * Stars (Just ok)

This is a very slow book. About half the book the main character (Pi) is telling about his life. There are only a few exciting parts. It was also hard to follow along. That’s why I disliked that book. The main character’s full name is Piscine Molitor Patel. He got a majors degree in religion and zoology. He’s also a skilled swimmer. His family owns a zoo in India and they’re moving to Canada and taking some animals with them on a boat. It sinks, but he jumps on a lifeboat, but a tiger also gets on. Because he’s religious it helps him keep his hopes up when he’s stranded on the boat. Because he’s got a degree in zoology it also helps him on the boat with the tiger. And because he’s a skilled swimmer it helps him if he needs to jump out.

Review #2
* * * * * Stars (Amazing!)
It is about a boy whose ship sinks and he is left to survive in the Pacific Ocean with a tiger and other animals. He is left to rely on himself and God. He tries to tame a tiger so they can live together. I like this book because there is a lot of drama in it.
