We are so happy to open to the public, and it has been great seeing so many of you return to the library! It seems like every day guidelines and rules are changing. Change is constant, and many times necessary, but more-so when a construction project and pandemic are taking place. In an effort to keep you updated to the latest changes happening at your library, please review the following information.
Changes in Fine Free Policies:
If you have items that are more than 30 days overdue, you will be unable to check out or use digital services until the item is returned. This policy was extended from 2 weeks to 30 days.
Covid 19 Safety Protocols
Holds: Holds coming to our library will be quarantined for a week before being sent out by the owning library. We will also be quarantining outgoing holds for a week before sending materials out. For our patrons, this means your holds will take a little longer to reach our library. Expect items that are on shelf at another library to take at least 10 – 14 days to arrive in our library.
Returned Items: Returned items will also be quarantined for a week before being checked in. Your account will update after returned items have been released from quarantine.
Short and Sweet Visits: We are happy to now allow residents to browse the collection, get help locating an item, copy or fax, get a library card, and, of course, check out some great books, movies, or music to enjoy at home. Unfortunately at this time, we are unable to offer seating or newspapers to enjoy while you visit and we request that due to the pandemic, guests keep their visits to the library short and sweet. Masks are required to enter the library.
Hold Delivery Service: If you choose to not pickup your holds in the library, you can schedule a hold delivery pickup and we will deliver holds to a designated parking spot in front of the library. Once you have been notified that holds are available, schedule a pickup here: https://www.huntleylibrary.org/schedule or call us at 847.669.5386, press 7.
