Christopher McDougall and his family rescue a donkey (Sherman) from a hoarding situation and work hard to bring him back to health. Sherman surprises them all with his determination to survive and overcome his previous circumstances and McDougall comes up with the wild idea of training and entering him in a team long-distance donkey race. Recruiting family, friends, and neighbors, McDougall and his team begin training. The donks quickly get up to speed and conditioned, but the trick is getting them to run a course (and keep running) and stay on track (no stops for grazing or socializing!). Along the way McDougall shares some stories of the people who contributed their time and energy toward making this particular dream a reality. A heart-warmer for sure!
