Kathleen Pilat – President
Kathleen was elected to the Huntley Library Board in 1997. During this time she has served as Treasurer, Vice- President and has served as President. Kathleen is an organizational development consultant.
She graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication.
Kathleen and her husband, Bob, have lived in the library district since 1995 and have two children; Laura and Evan.
Beverly Cannalte – Vice President
Bev was elected to the library board in 2013. She has worked in School District 158 since 2003 as a Media Aide at Chesak Elementary, D158 Technology Department, and currently at Huntley High School.
Bev graduated from Bradley University with Bachelor’s degrees in Public Relations and Advertising, and a minor in Spanish. She has lived in the library district since 1998 with her husband, Rob, and two sons, James and Matthew.
Bev thoroughly enjoys promoting our libraries and working with students.
David Moore – Treasurer
David is a 30 year resident of Huntley. He moved here shortly after marrying his wife Linda. They have 2 adult children that are graduates of Huntley High School.
David graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelors Degree in Production Agriculture, he also has an Associates Degree from Harper College.
David is originally from West Chicago and graduated from Elgin High School. One of his goals as a library trustee is to expand the hours that the library is open for the public.
Leslie Threadgill-Smith – Secretary
Leslie Threadgill-Smith was elected to the Library Board in 2015. She previously served on the Library Board from 2005-2013 where she held various officer and committee positions.
She graduated From Western Illinois University with a B.S. in Special Education and a B.S. in Elementary Education. She was a Special Education teacher for 10 years before becoming a stay at home mom.
She currently is a Homemaker and a substitute teacher. She has resided in Huntley for 19 years with her husband. She has two children.
Alissa Fewell – Trustee
Alissa graduated from Northern Illinois with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She earned her Master of Education in Literacy degree from Judson University in 2014. She has worked in District 300 as an elementary teacher for 12 years.
Alissa has lived in the library district with her husband since 2007. She has two young children that currently attend Huntley elementary schools. She is passionate about reading and believes that there is a child for every book and a book for every child. Her goal is to help create lifelong readers and learners of all ages.
Marjorie Smith – Trustee
Marge was appointed to the board in 2016. She and her husband, Del, moved to Del Webb in 2004. in 1999 she retired from the Schaumburg School District where she worked for 34 years as a classroom teacher and library/media teacher.
Marge graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Library Science. She earned her Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology from Northern Illinois University.
She currently volunteers at the library and with the HAPLD Friends Foundation.
Chris Budzynski – Trustee
Chris moved into the library district in 2015 with his wife, Tiphny and two sons, Colton and Ryder. Chris is the Director of Information Technology at Huntley Community School District 158. He has a doctoral degree in organizational leadership, a master’s degree in business administration, and a bachelor’s degree in economics.
A natural curiosity drives Chris to learn something new every day. He views the library as one of the best places to find new things to learn about.
