Huntley Area Public Library Board of Trustees

chris-budzynskiChris Budzynski – President

Chris moved into the library district in 2015 with his wife, Tiphny and two sons, Colton and Ryder. Chris is the Director of Information Technology at Huntley Community School District 158. He has a doctoral degree in organizational leadership, a master’s degree in business administration, and a bachelor’s degree in economics.

A natural curiosity drives Chris to learn something new every day. He views the library as one of the best places to find new things to learn about.




Leslie-Threadgill-Smith-WebLeslie Threadgill-Smith – Vice President

Leslie Threadgill-Smith was elected to the Library Board in 2015. She previously served on the Library Board from 2005-2013 where she held various officer and committee positions.

She graduated From Western Illinois University with a B.S. in Special Education and a B.S. in Elementary Education. She was a Special Education teacher for 10 years before becoming a stay at home mom.

She currently is a Homemaker and a substitute teacher. She has resided in Huntley for 19 years with her husband. She has two children.



Sean Cratty – Treasurer

Sean and his wife Emmy, along with their three children, Hailey, Michael, and Hannah have been in the Library district for the past 10 years. He has worked in the area for the past 9 years and currently is a Branch Manager for First National Bank in Lake in the Hills. Sean grew up in the small town of Galesburg IL and graduated from Monmouth College with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, then relocated to the Chicago suburbs in 2003.

He is very active in both Huntley and the surrounding areas as a member of the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills and Huntley Chambers of Commerce, the treasurer/board member for Huntley Fall Fest, serves on the finance committee for Leadership Greater McHenry County, is the treasurer of the Huntley Goes Bald (St. Baldrick’s event), a member of the Huntley Park Foundation Board and most recently was elected as a trustee for Grafton Township.

Sean and his family spend a lot of time at the library, specifically at many of the children’s programs throughout the year. He is excited to grow in his new role at the Library.

David-Moore-webDavid Moore – Trustee

David is a 30 year resident of Huntley. He moved here shortly after marrying his wife Linda. They have 2 adult children that are graduates of Huntley High School.

David graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelors Degree in Production Agriculture, he also has an Associates Degree from Harper College.

David is originally from West Chicago and graduated from Elgin High School. One of his goals as a library trustee is to expand the hours that the library is open for the public.




Dave Novalinski – Trustee

David was elected to the Library Board in 2017. He and his wife Julie have been members of the Huntley community since 2000. They have three adult children that all attended Huntley schools.

David & Julie are the owners of About Your Home Inspection, Inc. and have been deeply involved with the Huntley Chamber of Commerce since 2007. David was elected to the Chamber Board of Directors in 2010 and has filled various executive committee roles including two years as Chairman of the board.

David is excited to serve the Huntley community and is very honored to a member of the Library Board of Trustees.


marge-smithMarjorie Smith – Trustee

Marge was appointed to the board in 2016. She and her husband, Del, moved to Del Webb in 2004. in 1999 she retired from the Schaumburg School District where she worked for 34 years as a classroom teacher and library/media teacher.

Marge graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Library Science. She earned her Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology from Northern Illinois University.

She currently volunteers at the library and with the HAPLD Friends Foundation.
