Start Your Legacy at the Library

“As a member of this community, I feel it is my duty and pleasure to support and work for a library for future generations.” – Hazel Kloempken, May 27, 1988

Hazel’s determination encouraged other local residents to vote for the creation of the Huntley Area Public Library District. Today, the library serves more than 39,000 residents.

In her honor, the library has established the “Creating a Legacy” program. Located inside the front lobby of Huntley Area Public Library, “Creating a Legacy” placards allow donors to designate their contribution towards various library initiatives. Donations of $100 or more are recognized with an engraved nameplate on the plaque, and additional gifts advance your nameplate on the Legacy wall.

To Create Your Legacy, please download a brochure or pick one up on your next visit to the library. Plaques can be engraved for yourself, your family, a child, a business, or in memory of a loved one. If you choose to make a donation as a gift, you will receive a personalized certificate to present as a memento upon request. Consider creating your own legacy for future generations by supporting the invaluable community contribution of the library district.
