A girl named Anne is sent to live with a brother and sister in the place of a boy. The siblings almost send the girl back, but her charm stops them. Anne makes some great friends and gets several prestigious honors in school, as she does very well at school. The brother dies on Anne’s vacation. She decides to become a teacher and stay with the sister in the town of Avonlea. I liked this book because it its sweet Anne, her antics, and her beloved story.

Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert (brother & sister) are growing older and need help around the farm.  Soooo…they ask the orphan asylum for a boy to help.  When Matthew goes to pick up the boy he finds out it’s a girl…  A red-haired girl named Anne.  But he can’t leave her at the train station, so he decides to bring her home!!!  Anne is overjoyed when they are going to keep her!  Along the way she gets into lots of trouble, but also has lots of fun, and by the end…  She’s in college studying to be a teacher and around 14 years old!!!
