* * * * Stars (Great!)
Princess Eadlyn still believes she will not fall in love with any of her thirty-five suitors selected. That is until she opens her heart up to a few of the contestants. Eadlyn now has a choice to make that once felt possible to entirely impossible. I disliked how long it took for Eadlyn to choose whom she truly loved. For middle and high school teens.

Review #2
* * Stars (Just ok.)
“The Crown” by Kiera Cass is the final book in the Selection series. It follows Eadlyn Schreave as she continues her search for a husband from her Selection. With her mother, Queen America, recovering from a heart attack, Eadlyn must also take on more royal responsibilities. As she narrows down her suitors, she faces political and personal challenges; a rebellion, and her own doubts about love. Eadlyn must decide not only who she will marry but also what kind of queen she wants to be.

“The Crown” brings an end to the Selection series although it doesn’t capture the magic of the earlier books. I didn’t like Eadlyn’s character in “The Heir” because she was unlikeable and stubborn. There is some character growth, but it isn’t too prominent. Comparing this to “The Heir”, the plot’s pacing is rather quick. Overall, “The Crown” is a good read if you want to finish the Selection series, but it does not stand out on its own. For middle and high school readers.
