Yankee Girl takes place in the 1960s in Jackson, Mississippi. Alice Ann Moxley’s father gets transferred from Chicago to Mississippi, where racial ensions change for the worse. Alice Ann finds herself mixed up in the racial issues surrounding her, especially when a new negro girl arrives at an all-white school. I liked this book because it has just enough action and suspense mixed with a bit of humor.
