After having a terrifying experience Katniss is trying to get back on her feet. That’s till they are dragged back to the games. I liked this book because we were able to see her real pain.

After winning the 74th annual Hunger Games, Katniss and Peeta begin their victory tour and visit all of the districts. While on their tour they are faced with many heartbreaks, challenges, and horrors which they must now heal and fix in order to save the lives of their loved ones. With all the chaos going on already, they’re in for a bigger surprise when it’s time to announce the theme for the 75th Hunger Games! Since it’s the Quarter Quell, there is going to be a twist in the games. This year it is that a boy and a girl from each district much play in the games, but the drawings are from the names of the existing pool of victors. Since Katniss is the only female victor of district 12, she has no choice but to partake in the games. After the drawing, Peeta, Katniss, and the other victors are forced into the arena to fight to the death. Follow Katniss on her journeyof forming new alliances, building new friendships, facing many obstacles and tragedies, and find out who will win the 75th annual Hunger Games.

I absolutely loved everythin about this book! What made me happiest is the fact that Peeta and Katniss both survived and how the ending was so unexpected. I had no idea how the book would end, and I was dreading that Katniss or Peeta would die, but the author saved them! For middle and high school teens + adults.

“Catching Fire” continues the story of Katniss Everdeen, a young woman living in a dystopian society known as Panem. After winning the 74th Hunger Games, Katniss returns home to District 12, but her troubles are far from over. The Capitol, led by President Snow, is furious with her defiance during the Games and sees her as a threat. Katniss and fellow victor Peeta Mellark are forced to participate in a Victor’s Tour to showcase their love story. However, their actions spark rebellion across the districts. To ease the unrest, the Capitol announces the 75th Hunger Games, a special edition known as the Quarter Quell, where past victors must compete again, placing Katniss and Peeta back in the arena. Which one will make it out alive? Read the book to find out!

I loved how “Catching Fire” was equally as good as the first book of the Hunger Games. I loved how we got to see character development in Katniss and Peeta. The ending was way too similar to the first book, but it was enjoyable. The book’s setting (the new arena) makes the plot more interesting because it pressures the characters. For middle and high school readers.
