This book is about how Harry is in his 5th year at Hogwarts.  He is getting in a lot of mischief.  He has strong opinions about the Minister (of Magic) and the new DADA (Defense Against the Dark Arts) teacher, Professor Umbridge.  Harry decides to create a secret society because he does not want to lose his DADA skills.

* * * Stars (Pretty good)
In “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” by J.K. Rowling, Harry returns to Hogwarts for his fifth year, only to find the wizarding world in denial about Voldemort’s return. The Ministry of Magic interferes at Hogwarts, making Dolores Umbridge the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. As Umbridge controls all the students in the school, Harry forms “Dumbledore’s Army” to teach his peers defensive spells. What will Voldemort do? Will Umbridge’s reign of terror end? Read the book to find out!

I liked how the characters developed and had more complexities to them. The fight at the Ministry of Magic was the best part of the book for me. The book has an unnecessary focus on Umbridge’s reign of terror. It gets tedious in some parts. For upper elementary and middle school readers.
