Over the last few days, you may have experienced error messages or slow page loads when using the library’s ‘MyMediaMall’ Digital Collection. This temporary slowdown was due to an unprecedented spike in traffic following Christmas. It seems a lot of library patrons received e-readers! While we expected a surge in usage after the holiday, the interest in eBook and audiobook downloads was greater than anyone anticipated.
We've been assured by 'MyMediaMall' that they are managing the traffic to ensure that as many users as possible have access to the site. They are also preparing for an increased amount of traffic this evening and into the early morning, which are traditionally peak usage times.
They are currently enhancing the performance levels of 'MyMediaMall'. We have been told that the service will be performing at the level it did prior to the holiday surge within the next 48 to 72 hours.
