Swifties Are You Ready for It Gallery (June 2024)
Our teen Swifties came out to learn some fun choreography to Taylor Swift’s “Are You Ready for It.” They were remarkable! See some photos below:
Renew Yoga for Teens Gallery (June + July 2024)
Lorrie Palczynski, certified yoga instructor, helped participants relax into summer in this beginner-friendly yoga class for teens. Everyone wanted to try meditation at the end, so we also had a brief guided meditation session. See some photos below:
Henna Art Gallery (June 2024)

Tiny Art for Teens Gallery (June 2024)
Teens painted tiny canvases and wooden tiles to create these tiny masterpieces. Several were going to special dads to celebrate Father’s Day! Enjoy some photos from the event below:
Armchair Tour of the Solar System Gallery (May 2024)
Michelle Nichols from the Adler Planetarium visited the library and presented her talk on the planets in our solar system to an enthusiastic group of teens and adults. We love Michelle’s passion for the stars! Here are a few photos from the event, but we highly recommend catching Michelle in person, if you can!
Kite Flying Gallery (June 2024)
Teens learned how to fly and steer kites on a particularly blustery afternoon – we had 20mph+ winds at times! It was challenging with some of the kite designs, but participants had fun, and our instructor, Eric, was kept busy running back and forth as he helped people get airborn again. Project Perler Gallery (May 2024)
Remember Perler beads? We got a little nostalgic for our childhood and brought out these fun, fusable, plastic beads. You can make pretty much anything with them! Teens tried out some of our example patterns and came up with their own designs. Check out what we made below:
Melt and Pour Soap Gallery (April 2024)
Teen participants learned how to make soap the easy way using the melt and pour method. Here are some of their beautiful (and fragrant) creations!
Self-Defense for Teens Gallery (February 2024)
Lindsey Daehnke from Strictly Self Defense held a teen self-defense workshop at the library in February. Participants learned a variety of techniques to keep themselves safe in various situations., and left class feeling empowered! Check out some photos from the class below:
