We used our diamond painting skills to bedazzle book covers (and some other stuff, too) at this fun event! If you haven’t tried it, diamond painting is relaxing and fun.

Enchanted Forest Dioramas Photo Gallery (July 2026)
Using a variety of materials, including moss, bark, stones, acrylic paint, and tiny plastic trees, teens created their very own enchanted forests within the confines of a shoebox. In these magical places rabbits and foxes and hedgehogs became friends and foraged together. So impressed with everyone’s creativity!
Art After Dark: Australian Aboriginal Dot Art Gallery (February 2026)
HAPL teens created their own dot art in the style of Australian Aboriginal artists.
Art After Dark: Alebrijes Art Gallery (July 2026)
Check out the fantastic alebrijes teens created this summer using air-dry modeling clay! Alebrijes are a form of Mexican folk art that depict dreamlike, fantastical creatures.
Holiday Cards to Make and Keep Gallery (December 2025)
A nice group of people attended the library’s holiday card-making event and designed dozens of cards for friends, family, and folks in assisted living residences. Happy holidays!
Paint by Number Gallery (September 2025)
Teens attempted some beginner-friendly paint by number kits at our Art After Dark event this September. (If this is beginner, I’d hate to see advanced!) Enjoy our works in progress below!
Color Shift Potions Gallery (January 2025)
Teens made the most amazing color-shifting potions using food coloring and mica powder in a water-rubbing alcohol solution, then decorated their bottles with various labels and sealing wax. These make great props for parties, or D&D, or cosplay! Lots of ideas and recipes and designs can be found here. Check out some of the potions we made!
Wreaths of Khan Gallery (December 2024)
A most excellent variety of wreaths were created by participants at the library’s Wreaths of Khan event this December. To Khan or not to Khan, that was the question. Check out our creations below!
Girls Click Bricks Gallery (October 2024)
Going on RIGHT NOW in Program Room #2 – the inaugural session of Girls Click Bricks, our new LEGO building program for girls in middle and high school. Project Shrink Plastic Gallery (July 2024)
Teens played with shrink plastic at this fun event and we all ooh-ed and ahh-ed as we watched our creations brighten in color as they diminished in size. This is still so fun! See what everyone made below:
