For Parents

“Children are Like Kites” By: Erma Bombeck

“I see children as kites. You spend years trying to get them off the ground. You run with them until you are both breathless. They crash…you add a longer tail…they hit the rooftop…you patch, comfort, adjust and teach. You watch them lifted by the wind and assure them that someday they will fly.

Being a parent is tough! We understand and applaud all the hard work you do!

The staff in Youth Services is here to help you introduce your child to books, and help them grow to love reading. We can always help you find just the right picture book, the right book for your beginning reader, or the appropriate chapter book or novel for your older child. We have special books for parents in our Parenting Collection, located just behind the reserves shelf near the Circulation Desk.
