Huntley Area Public Library Names Natalie Starosta
New Executive Director
The Board of Trustees of the Huntley Area Public Library voted to hire Natalie Starosta as the Library’s Executive Director during a Special Meeting held July 7th, 2026 for that purpose. The decision comes after a four month, nationwide search following the departure of the former director earlier in the year.
Ms. Starosta begins as the Executive Director of the Huntley Area Public Library on August 24th, 2026.
Ms. Starosta comes to Huntley from the Lake Bluff Public Library where she has been their Director. She brings over a decade of experience with a strong background in innovation, community relations, and staff development. She has also served as a Library Director in North Riverside and in Michigan.
The Board appreciated the skills Ms. Starosta’s experience as a library director provides. “She’s done a lot of the planning that we have coming up,” Board President Leslie Threadgill-Smith said. “She’s created strategic plans and capital plans and most importantly, turned those plans into results.” “I liked how she talked about staff development,” Trustee Linda Benigno said. “She covered everything from finding and hiring the best candidates and then ensuring they’re onboarded and trained well.”
