* * * * * Stars (Amazing!)
Following Alina and Mal, they are on an adventure of finding the second amplifier, the Sea Whip. But while on the way, they have an encounter with Darkling. But that doesn’t stop them, they escape, forming new friendships and powers to save the world from the Darkling’s power. I give this book 5 stars because it was amazing! The story was well put out and the new characters introduced just made the story better and more fun. This book was going on an adventure yourelf with friends and magical powers.

Review #2
* * * * Stars (Great!)
The book “Siege and Storm” follows the protagonist Alina Starkov. Having previously seen her in the first book, “Shadow and Bone,” Alina’s power has grown a significant amount, but she is still haunted by the numerous lives she took in the Shadow Bone under the Darkling’s influence. She is the Sun Summoner, as the Darkling is more determined to steal Alina’s magic from her in order to obtain the Ravkan throne and Morozava’s second amplifier.

This made for a great read since this book has an overall better scope than the first book. The plot is significantly more interesting, and Alina’s character is more well-explored in “Siege and Storm.” The writing is deeper, and even though some of the parts in the book aren’t that high tension, there seems to be tension in the book which makes the book even more interesting. For older teens (high school) and adults.
