I gave “The 5th Wave” five stars as it is truly amazing. Set in the present day, Cassie Sullivan must protect her little brother from an alien invasion. Yancey’s writing style is humorous and filled with suspense.  The main character, Cassie, has a funny sense of sarcasm. The only thing I didn’t like was the shift in narrators. I put this book in my top 5 books list.

“The 5th Wave” is about a girl named Cassie Sullivan who is one of the only survivors of an alien apocalypse. I liked this book because it was action packed, with some drama and some romance. It definitely kept me interested! It was one of the only science fiction novels that I really liked, too.

Review #3
* * * * Stars (Great!)
“The 5th Wave” by Rick Yancey is about aliens referred to as “The Others” invading Earth. They sent 4 waves to wipe out humanity – the book focuses on the 5th. The writer follows the story of several characters: Cassie Sullivan, Sammy Sullivan, and Ben “Zombie” Parish. Sammy and Zombie are forced to train in a secret camp run by the “Others,” while Cassie survives in the wild with a rebel “Other” named Evan trying to find a way to free her brother. I liked it because it focused on a mainly independent female protagonist. It also had a lot of violence, so that was fun.
