Our Eye Spy 2020 Summer Reading Program finished with some lucky kids walking away with a Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart or Game Stop gift card or even a Nintendo Switch! Here are some of our winners. If you have been wondering what Toddler Story Time is all about, here’s a sneak peek. Miss Charise reads books, sings songs (sometimes to sign language), and uses music and fingerplays to get the audience involved. Over 400 people welcomed Jim Gill for his Sing-A-Long of Celebrated Songs Concert! Families filled Chesak Elementary’s gymnasium to hear Gill who has been entertaining children of all ages since the early 90’s. Tweens designed and decorated a book/tote bag and made buttons to show their love for the library. We provided all the supplies for kids ages 10-14 in this 90 minute class. Check out the photos! Enjoy photos of this month’s Read to a Dog. This was Cooper’s (and his owner Gary’s) first time volunteering for this program. He listened to all the books, even one about a cat! Read to a Dog is a monthly program for families at the Huntley Area Public Library. The volunteer animals are licensed therapy dogs and are accompanied by their owners for the program. Valentine’s Day was extra special because Megan Bargiel, Teen Miss McHenry County, joined us for crafts, photo fun and a yummy snack. Kids ages 4-8 were invited to try the different stations and spend some time with Megan during the 45-minute program.
