Tyler Feder was 19 when her mom died from cancer. Now in her 30s, Tyler still feels like a huge chunk of her is missing AND that her mother is still with her in all kinds of ways. She wrote this memoir of this time in her life – just as she was becoming a new adult – about losing her mom, losing herself, and what her grief looked like (also how it was different from others in her family). She writes very lovingly of her mom while acknowledging that no relationship is perfect. While those who have lost a parent early in life (or someone special to cancer) may find a special connection with this book, it will appeal to anyone who has experienced (or is experiencing) grief (so many feels). Highly recommended.
