Greg Heffley narrates the saga of his older brother’s trials and tribulations as he and his band Loded Diper attempt to rocket themselves into stardom. Trying to follow in the footsteps of their idols, Metallichihuahua, they’re supposed to perform in a battle of the bands competition, but before they can really be competitive, they have to find ways to get their name and their music out where people can hear it. There are many, MANY obstacles in their path to fame and fortune, and their attempts to overcome them are pretty hilarious. Greg even gets roped into first being a roadie and then a member of the band (who can’t actually play his instrument). Launching a musical career is more complicated and more work than they ever knew! It’s fun to see more of Rodrick’s life here – through Greg’s eyes. Fans will enjoy this installment. For middle grades 5+.
