Rhine and Gabriel made their triumphant escape in the previous book, but they didn’t bother to plan much further than that. Now, if they want to find Rhine’s twin brother, Rowan, they’ll have to make their way to New York somehow, and there are plenty of dangers in between. When they do finally reach their destination, Rowan has disappeared, and Rhine is terribly ill. This makes her easy prey for Vaughn, her father-in-law, who brings her right back to where she started from – this time as a research subject rather than wife. It’s one horrifying thing after another for these teens. But the ending offers a ray of hope. Rhine may never have a normal/average human life span, but she may yet find her brother. Suspenseful and intriguing – readers will be eager to find out how this all wraps up in the final book.
