A Magic Steeped in Poison
Book of Tea #1
by Judy Lin
* * * * Stars (Great!)

Tea laced with magic and a fantasy laced with romance, mystery, and suspense! Ning is competing for a court position, but she’s had to falsify some information in order to enter. She was NOT her mother’s apprentice – her sister was, but her sister is deathly ill from the same poison that ended their mother’s life. Ning is desperate to find a cure. The same poison has also struck down the Princess’ father, and they will need combine forces to discover the antidote. Meanwhile, there are plots in the works to overthrow the ruling family and Ning may have inadvertantly put herself in the middle of one. There’s a lot to tantalize here, from the fantasy setting to the competition and court intrigue. This will whet appetites for the next installment! For high school teens.
