Myrtle Hardcastle is fuming. Though she solved the mystery of Redgraves, her father has sent her and Miss Judson packing off to the seashore for a “relaxing vacation,” or in Myrtle’s knowledge, to get her away from her Morbid Obsession with Death. Additionally, to further lengthen the punishment, Myrtle has to travel with her loathed aunt, Aunt Helena. Myrtle and Miss Judson are off on a special train, where they meet Mrs. Bloom, a professional insurance investigator. Also on the train is a tiara called the “Northern Lights Tiara.” It sparkles like the Aurora Borealis. But when they get off the train the tiara has disappeared and Mrs. Bloom has been murdered. With Aunt Helena’s sewing shears. Now Myrtle must find the murderer of Mrs. Bloom while avoiding getting killed. This book was exciting and I liked how it reflected Agatha Christie’s “Murder on the Orient Express.” For kids, middle and high school teens, and adults.
