July 7, 2026
Call to Order: A Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Huntley Area Public Library District was held in Program Room 2 at the Huntley Area Public Library District, 11000 Ruth Road, Huntley, IL 60142 on July 7, 2026. President Threadgill-Smith called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.
President Threadgil-Smith led the Pledge of Allegiance

Trustees Present: Linda Benigno, Sandy Domagalski, Jerry Reedy, Leslie Threadgill-Smith, and Stephanie Weil
Trustees Absent: Katie Kunde and John Schmelzer
Library Staff Present: Elizabeth Steffensen, Acting Director; Lindsey Jarr, Business Manager; Jo Smolzer, Head of Collection; Kevin Stringer, Head of IT; Michelle Whisenhunt, Head of Youth Services; Lisa Rossi-Moser, Head of Programing; Donna Klehr, Head of Circulation; Sergio Ramos, Head of Maintenance; Rob Aavang, Information Services; Melanie LoPiccolo, Youth Services; Pamela Cardenas, Information Services, Susan Riddle-Mojica, Information Services
Visitors Present: none
Public Comments: Threadgill-Smith thanked the Huntley Area Lions Club for their recent $1,000 donation to purchase large print materials.
New Business: Benigno motioned; Reedy seconded to ratify the hiring of Natalie Starosta as the Executive Director of the Huntley Area Public Library at a salary of $125,000 Roll Call Vote: Benigno-Aye; Domagalski-Aye; Reedy-Aye; Threadgill-Smith-Aye; and Weil-Aye. All Ayes. No Nays. Motion Carried.
Upcoming Dates: Regular Board Meeting July 15, 2026.
Adjourn: Reedy Motioned; Weil seconded to adjourn the Special Meeting. All Ayes. No Nays. Motion Carried.
