It is in the world of Shadowhunters and it is very well written. You can never predict what is going to happen and that is what makes Cassandra Clare one of my favorite authors. It follows a girl named Emma and her parabati – her sworn platonic partner for life, Julian. She is a Shadowhunter in a world of vampires, demons, faeries, and more and protects the mortal world from them. When these Downworlders start showing up dead all around the city she and her parabati set out to find who is behind these murders and the truth about her parents’ deaths.
